Blue Carbon tidal wetland methodology

Regenerates native coastal vegetation and habitat. Tidal wetlands mangroves are amongst the most productive marine ecosystems on Earth.

They provide a safe refuge for a host of aquatic organisms, protect the coastline from erosion and secure the economic livelihood of coastal communities

peniup reforestation

Reforestration of agricultural land

The Peniup Reforestation project has planted 3.8m trees on 2500 hectares of former farmland in south-western Australia. The farmland was purchased and regenerated by Greening Australia and Bush Heritage Australia. The objective is to both remove carbon from the atmosphere and to regenerate local biodiversity.

Paroo River

Native forest regeneration

Changes to agricultural processes on the the Yerrel and Humeburn Station is promoting the regrowth of the native forest.
The project is helping protect the Paroo River, one of the most pristine rivers in south west Queensland and feeding into the wetlands of the Currawinya lakes and wetlands.

Mai Ndombe REDD+

AVOIDED DEFORESTATION

Located in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), the Mai Ndombe REDD+ Project protects 300,000 hectares of critical bonobo and forest elephant habitat within the world's second-largest intact rainforest and some of the most important wetlands on the planet.

Moombidary Forest Regeneration

Native Forest regeneration (HIR)

The Traditional Custodians have formed a unique collaboration with the property owner to partner on a native forest regeneration carbon farming project on Moombidary Station.

The project is reducing the impact of agricultural practices on regenerating trees, including by investing in new infrastructure and establishing rotational grazing practices.

Impact: -976,094t CO2 reduced

Central Arnhem Land

COOL BURNING & TRADITIONAL LAND MANAGEMENT

‘Cool burning’ is a traditional land management practice used to burn savanna grass land ahead of the dry season. This prevents large, uncontrolled wildfires later in the season.

This project is undertaken with local indigenous rangers - the Arafura Swamp Rangers, the Mimal Rangers and the Bawinanga Rangers. Supports Biodiversity
